Close: September 19, 2026

Alpinist Studios is a digital engineering studio in Lalitpur serving founders and enterprises in North America and beyond. We build MVPs, staff dedicated teams, and ship production software with less overhead and greater agility.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end Agile delivery for software projects, acting as the primary bridge between our Kathmandu-based engineering teams and North American clients
  • Define and manage project scope, translating client requirements into clear, actionable sprint plans
  • Plan, run, and continuously improve sprint ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) to keep delivery predictable and on track
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client stakeholders, leading regular status calls and written updates across time zones
  • Proactively manage scope changes, blockers, and shifting priorities, keeping both engineering teams and clients aligned
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project tracking in Jira / Linear, ensuring visibility into progress, risks, and timelines
  • Facilitate clear, consistent communication (written and verbal) between distributed teams via Slack and other channels
  • Anticipate risks and dependencies early, and drive resolution before they impact delivery timelines
  • Foster a calm, structured environment for engineering teams even amid changing requirements or tight deadlines

Required Skills & Experience

MUST-HAVES

  • 5+ years of experience leading software projects or managing dedicated engineering teams
  • Strong command of Agile/Scrum fundamentals: scope definition, sprint planning, backlog management, and stakeholder communication
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to produce clear status reports, documentation, and client-facing communication
  • Ability to work effectively across overlapping time zones between Nepal and North America, including comfort with client-facing calls
  • Hands-on proficiency with Jira and/or Linear for sprint and backlog management
  • Strong daily communication skills using Slack or similar collaboration tools
  • Demonstrated ability to stay calm and organized under shifting priorities, scope changes, or ambiguity

NICE TO HAVE

  • Prior experience specifically working with North American (or other Western) clients
  • Experience managing distributed/remote teams across multiple geographies
  • Familiarity with additional PM or reporting tools beyond Jira/Linear (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Asana)
  • Background in software engineering or a technical discipline, enabling deeper conversations with engineering teams
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or PSM
